Help, Starter fuse blowing
A month later 7th feb about 3500 total miles in the car wouldn't start again. Noticed starter fuse had blown so replaced it but nothing again. Told Garage starter gone so they came out and couldn't bump so towed it away. Garage returned the car and said it was the clutch sensor gone.
Can you believe a month later, 5500 miles in and its gone again but this time sitting at traffic lights, I used stop start as heavy traffic and when the lights went green and I put my foot on the clutch nothing!!! RAC came out and said eco stop start function detected low engine speed.( note output 3 power supply electrical fault or open 127) We scratched our heads for a while then I remembered the starter fuse, noticed it had blown, put a new one in and car started. The next day started fine but the following day it blew again. Now the fuse blows every time I try starting. I have tested the purple wire and I do have power running through the starter at 11.7v. My leads got very hot, Tested relay and fine, by passed relay and starter fuse blew out. Checked some earth points and OK, after removing a number of relays after reading a lot, I have worked out its shorting when the clutch pedal is in and I turning the key to start on 3rd point.
Why does it keep blowing?
