Greetings,
As per the title, this project is a restoration of a 1951 170 Va. This is a project my son and I will take on together, we both have much to learn about the car the process and potential pitfalls. If this is not the appropriate forum perhaps you might suggest a better one? I'm still trying to decide whether to restore it or simply part it out. Parts are hard to find. Any guidance and suggestions are most welcome, Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. First to confirm: Is this in fact a 6 volt system? Our hope is to keep it authentic. What are the disadvantages to the 6 volt system, should we consider upgrading to 12volts? Thanks for your consideration.

Thanks for the welcome. I ask about the system voltage as I've found conflicting information regarding the 6v vs.12v. We acquired the "project" when a friend's dad passed leaving the car not fully assembled and parts in piles and boxes. His heirs wept as we winched the beast onto a rollback but were happy to know we intend a complete rebuild. I'll post some pics asap.
