Here's video of the S550 with complete 3" S65 exhaust which does not have a resonator. I already added back in the resonator. Sounds much better now. I'll post new video soon.
This is barely accelerating... If I punched it in my neighborhood I know everyone would be coming outside wondering where the Dodge Viper was... lol...

This is punching it... and it gets even louder as you accelerate on the highway.

I've asked my local MB dealer about installing an OEM S63 exhaust on my S550. They said it can't be done due to incompatibilities with oxygen sensor among other things. Did you hear/face this with your conversion?
Also, having seen the underside of your S550, do you think just replacing the mufflers alone would work. All I really want are quad tips and a better sounding exhaust.
Thanks.
Also if you can help me with your access to the wholesale account I will be appreciated
Sorta rare on an S-Class board. Damn cool though.
The wheels look great. I am undecided on what I am going to do - but will have something lined up like yours come spring.
Hmm, I fit that description (except for the bike). I have a 75 vette i used to race on/off track while in college (rebuilt everything myself), and a 97 Z28 with blower for all street fun (do all my own work). Both of which i will not let any shop touch. I thought i was the only gearhead geek here, glad to hear i am mistaken.
So ... anyone have good ideas on ssome cheap/simple mods for adding more HP to these beasties? Does adding a K&N air filter help at all? How about adding something to trick the intake air temp sensor? I have already Autotapped the 550. Dang, there are more sensors to monitor than my 97 Z

Lets Mod these babies!

Do you hear that growl inside the car at hwy speeds?

I might get laughed at, but if I get an S550, I plan on getting cheapo cut-outs (with option to open or close them), for the simple fact that, the muscle car enthusiast in me misses that V8 growl, but I want the option to have my S as quiet as possible as well. So I figure, with that, you'll get the beefy LOUD sound of practically straight pipes (depending on where it's cut out) when you want, and a stock sound when you want.
I know it sounds ridiculous in theory, but I think it might work.... Anyone ever done it?
