I know, $4K is a bit steep for that. Obviously the electric aspect is what you're spending money on. I figure, if I were to really consider it, if it really would cost that much, I'd probably be down to get myself a little dirty when manually opening and closing them.

When I first got my E, I was starting to lust to have some sound again, which was stupid because I purposely bought a V6 over a V8 that would have cost even LESS (it was in late '08 when the Gas/Economy crisis REALLY hit, and everything was crazy w/ gas & car prices), I searched for some "350" M-B models with resonator delete.... Lemme just say

emilner, Page 2 on this thread:
"I got the S63 mufflers on my S350, it sounded NOTHING like you guys.....Mine sounds bone stock....maybe it's the V6??"
S350's are not sold in the US but are in Europe and other countries. Resonator delete on a V6 sounds a little more aggressive. Eisenmann makes a "Race performance" exhaust that has a tone that sounds very good to if you want to go aftermarket.

On a side note, MAN those cars looked good, the grille on the new face-lift S is just brilliant.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the clip from bensitto's conversion of his S550. The OP of this thread.

This is barely accelerating... If I punched it in my neighborhood I know everyone would be coming outside wondering where the Dodge Viper was... lol...

This is punching it... and it gets even louder as you accelerate on the highway.

TDwayne69,
Yes that's my conversion before I added back in the resonator. I tell you, it was straight up race car without the resonator. I need to update this thread with a new video with the resonator back on which I will do this week. Sounds like a stock AMG now, nice, deep, but not overly loud.
MTB & K-A,
That video looked like it was actual 2010 S63 AMG models. Where's the S350 w/ S65 exhaust sound clip?

Very nice!!! great job on the conversions.
The gold one must have the full S65 exhaust system with the resonator delete in order to sound like that. V8 is still more throaty and deep.

I'm going to do the S65 exhaust and either the facelift or pre-facelift S65 front apron. I can't decide between which apron to go with, the one on the MTB conversion is very sweet. I'm leaning towards the facelift front apron.

I'm going to change my rear diffuser, exhaust, and front apron. I agree everything else is very similar. I do like the new facelift front apron with the LEDs, the youtube clip is pushing me in the direction of facelift apron.

The black one in the video is S550 and the golden one a S350 !!!
Both were made by MasterTuning to AMG 2010 model incl. amg conversion

Wow, mastertuning charges 11,499 Euro for the complete 2010 AMG facelift minus installation and painting. The 2010 look is definitely growing on me too, but I think prices are still going to be to steep cause it's a new release. Steve K. (MBenzNL) might be able to get the best deals on this. I bet we could get a group buy for the parts and save $$$$.
I would only do the front apron w/ LED daytime, new headlights w/ night vision, and Rear tails.
That video with 2 S's rolling is nice. Never seen that gold color is it Designo or custom?

No side marker lights in my S65 body kit
I am in the process of doing the S65 body kit mod to my 07 S550. Earlier I changed the front bumper side marker lights from amber lenses to clear lenses and clear bulbs that when activated light up as a yellow bulbs. I never liked the amber lens nor my "fix". When I ordered the new S65 body kit, I asked the supplier if they can produce the front bumper without the cut outs for the side markers. They can.
Once I do this change:
What do I do with the wires and bulb holders for the side makers?
How do I stop/prevent the "Side Marker Light Out" warning signal?
Thanks in advanced to the forum members for your help.

I'm in the process of changing the stock S550 front and rear bumpers. Are there any strange happenings that I will incur or things I need to look out for.
I am hoping that any body shop can do it and that it will be just strait bolt on and drive off.
No weird wind drags or gas mileage problems, etc.
Let me know the experiences.
Thanks
