First photos of the 2013 S-Class with nearly no covering at all. Looks to be getting updated digital dashboard, automatic gearshift on the right side of the steering wheel, new steering wheel, vents, aluminium and wood trim.

Very nice but why FOUR vents in the middle? I would have preferred if they found out a way to hide the vents altogether sort of like how the light bulbs used for ambient lighting are hidden. Would make for a much more elegant and seamless look...

It will take a while for the four giant holes for the vents in the middle of the dashboard to grow on me...

At least they did not make it all trapezoidal like they did for the W212. Glad they retained the curves.

Brilliant Design!

Plus points:
- FINALLY two proper speed/rev counter (as all top level cars should have)
- Vents and wood trim are Bentley like and look very distinguished
- Leather trim also seems quite sharp (top level sports car like)
- Command seems quite nicely designed and I like the status bar below
- All the switches around the command navigator are intelligently designed

Negative points:
- Attempt to get an old school steering wheel updated seems failed
- Climate control buttons (did they forget to update it )

lets not judge too quickly.. I know there are a few of us that thought badly of the 221 when we saw the spy pics.. and look how it turned out

but in any event that steering wheel is ugly.. however the comand screen looks huge, i like

the 221 interior still hasn't grown on me for a number of reasons.

The steering wheel sucks in the pics, but I think the rest of the interior is a nice step up.

Everyone his own taste ..The Interiour and a number of reasons is why I got a W221

Time will tell ,but I think the 221 is more timeless, then the 220 with its droopy eyes(my personal opinion).

Lets see what the W222 brings to the MB S-Klasse heritage-line..looks promising already!

I think interior is kinda reminiscent of Rolls Royce Ghost or just me
Well, I dislike round air vents as well . Present W221's better designed air vents , sleek and rectangular

Also has anyone noticed the super glossy row of buttons between the 2 LCD screens? They are going to show every little spec of dust, smudge, or fingerprint, especially when the buttons are pressed. Also super glossy plastic are very prone to micro scratches and swirls that add up over time. If it is glossy, I hope it has a glass finish and not a scratch prone plastic finish.... Hard to tell from the photo.

I wish they selected a top quality matte finish for the buttons that will hold up well over time as opposed to the super glossy buttons as if it's a cheap net-book.

Can't believe that is the steering wheel they are going to use. Not too excited about the rest but the actual car always seems to turn out better than the spy pictures.

The exterior is plain, especially coming from the 221 with the distinguishing fender bump outs. They are going to one of those stalk mounted controls for the transmission - the BMW 7 series has a very high rollaway rate because people forget to put the car in park with the stalk when they park it.
