2014 S Class Revealed

The exterior looks like some influences from the Maybach have made their way onto the back half of the car. Not as good looking as the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe, but still a solid Mercedes Benz look.
But man, that interior is stunning. Whether you're the driver or sitting in the back seat, it looks like a pretty inviting place to hang out. Can't wait to check one out in person....could be the kind of car in which you want to get in and just drive for 500 miles.

Please dont tell me they did the rear seat foot rest where you need to push the front seat up in order to make it work. I could be wrong but according to the picture it looks this way.
I remember I use to date a girl who worked for Hyundai and she brought home the Equus and the same situation happend. It was a total fail moment.

Interior to me is meh. Looks like a steampunk submarine, which is disjointed form the exterior design, which looks pretty good to me.

Hot massage included...
First of all, take a look at these materials. They are significantly nicer than anything I own. Wood, weighted buttons, stitched leather. It looks like the lobby of a hotel I can’t afford to look at. And the seats in the rear recline like a business class jet. It's not a first class recline like in a passenger van, but at least the Merc doesn't give a free candy vibe.
Back to the gizmos, Mercedes is touting their new “energizing” hot massage function, reverse-flow seat ventilation fans, and heated armrests. That hot massage uses the seat's 14 separately-activated air bladders along together with the seat heating function. Mercedes says this is a world first, and that it was developed with physiotherapists and psychologists.

The rest of the interior is freaking awesome. The exterior, so-so, somewhat boring. I see the E class front air scoops (ala F430) sorta made it to the new S as well.

Plus you have to remember that this car has always catered to a more conservative crowd.
Plus, it leaves room for the AMG.
The CL is always my favorite Benz. I love me some big body coupes!

Exterior doesn't really do it for me. I think it is the rear that seems a little awkward.
Then, I got to the interior pictures and was like "oh my..." BUT then I saw the cluster and wanted to smash my face into a wall. It could just be me but it all looks digital which in my mind is a big no no. I want a real, analog, cluster. What is this, an LFA? The rest of the interior screams S class which is awesome.
Quick edit on the tablets on the back headrests. Those took a lot of heat from people but to me this S class appeals mostly to two types of people. Guys that like their comfortable stretch car who have a family and those screens would be great for the kids especially on trips. Second person is a business type who is always on the move and can use it to skype whatever business needs to be handled. It can be like a mobile office for them while being driven around. Would actually be a great car for a high end chauffeur service. Could just be me though thinking that.

god dammit, the interior is brilliant save for that stupid double screen taking up half the dash. That pretty much ruins it for me.
Outside, with sport package, will likely look just fine.

anyone see an issue with blacking out the tiny red strips at the bottom???
that bothers the hell out of me......some kind of US dot thing.....
I kind of agree about the display.....not loving the digital display.....
but the rest of the car is amazing......a designo interior shown no doubt....
this is very likely the car for me

The only thing I don't like about the exterior is the panoramic roof no longer continues seamlessly to the read windscreen. To bad as I really like the seamless look of glass from front to back in my car. That metal strip at the back roof area ruins the seamless look.Even if they had to have steel there for structural reasons they could have had that beam run under the glass to maintain the look. But I suppose when you look down from the top you can easily tell which car is your S class...

There haven't been analog gauges in an S-Class for what? 6+ years?
This is a natural extension of the existing design of the W221 and a good one in my book...

Possible major fail? Wait until you can see the car in the flesh and sit in it, then make up you mind...
