Thanks, not what I wanted to hear, but something about not shooting a messenger :-)

You know, this seems like a job for a 555 timer and a monostable flip-flop.

When the car gets keyed on, the flip-flop is initialized to 0V,
after 5 seconds, the MSFF transitions to 5V and activates the ES-stop button,
after 1 second the MSFF transitions back to 0V for the rest of the trip.

I used to build stuff like this for $5 and a trip to Radio Crap.

Getting access to the ES-button would be harder than everything else involved.
The car would simply think the driver had hit the ES button, no change to any firmware.

I'M a dealer for MID CITY and has sold a slew of these! It's a simple install and won't void you warranty and the dealer can't even see that's it's on there when plugged in. Many in FL deal with a lot of heat and high temps and they love this!

I'm fascinated by "Curve" setting. I imagine this also applies to the 2019 S450, correct?

Nope, not really a big deal as I just put the car in sport or press the eco button every time I get in the car.

Lol, and that’s why a product exists because you’re gonna forget and get annoyed. Like a crying baby when you hold it and as soon as you stop it cries again. Same annoyance. Lol.

I just don’t like manufactures making decisions for me that I can’t cbange. But that’s where the aftermarket comes in to benefit us.

Magic Body Control is another thing not available on 4matics. Like around here in Canada, 4Matic is a must, but it sucks not having the curve function or MBC.

there is also this option:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-ca...53.m1438.l2649

Turns off the eco start when you hit the button, and the system remembers your selection. if off it stays off until you hit the button again... if you turn it on it stays on until you turn it on again.

Ah, gee, I don’t think that little widget is made by or approved by Mercedes-Benz, and I would not put my factory warranty in jeopardy, by installing that little gizmo, just to save me pushing one button after start up. IF the factory authorized dealer would install it, then I’d be good to go.

Considering it just flips a bit from a setting, the dealer (much less a tech) will never know its there. They don't dig into code. They run diagnostics and will update versions which would erase the bit that was flipped. then you just plug it in again and let it flip the bit. For the dealer to know its there, they would have to have a tech that could read 500K lines of code and recognize a zero that should have been a one. If you find that tech let me know because I have some other work for him to do as he is wasting his time working as a tech for a stealership.

oh and do you think mercedes writes the software for their cars? they don't and neither do any other car manufacturer. They outsource that stuff.

I have this on my facelift S560, and it is great to have. The seller gives great service, so just message him with your WIN, and he will tell you if it works. He has 5 version of each module. I bought 3 different, Auto on/off, AMG logo and one more i forgot. Will edit if i remember.

You can do the uninstall when the car is in for service, and i usually do that. I forgot it this time, and the tech did not mention it. And he was diagnosing for engine/transmission problem, so he probably looked hard.

Magic Body Control is Awesome, and the curve function is the big surprise in my car, its great! Every car should have this.

I dont need 4matic, and i dont think many NEED it. Winter tires is more important. I drive on snow and ice in the winter and proper tires is the key. But of course there will be some steep hills you cannot drive up. Should you?

look at the systems in the cars as a sealed computer that only has logs for the techs to look at. they can access features and turn stuff off and on but MB doesn't want them to have the ability to dig too deep. when they get stumped they reflash the system.... not really trouble shooting much anymore.

If any of you find it annoying to have to disable Eco mode every time you get into the vehicle, we make a solution to this issue. It is programmed to shut off Eco mode every time you start the vehicle, but the Eco function can be turned on and resumed at any time. Lots of satisfied customers. Check it out!

I'm interested in upgrading exhaust with electronic Valves. The vendor sells a Wireless remote or hard wire a switch. Do you have something that will trigger the valves when I hit Sport mode on the car. That would be sweet. Nice, quiet and refined, then when the wife an kids are away Sport and Varoom... Looking at Renntech ECU that dealer will install to bump the ponies...
2014 S550 Sport 4 Matic..

And lots of us are patiently waiting for the Remote Start

Thanks for the suggestion -- we get a fair amount of these vehicles through our facility, and we will make a note to take a look at the next one that comes through. This way we can see if this can become a reality. We'll try and work on it, and the remote starter is something still in the works also. Thanks for being a supporter of what we do -- Cheers!

I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to create a new one. Has anyone gotten one of these aftermarket devices to disable the eco start-stop? It's probably the thing I like the least about this car

It is possible to code the Eco Start/Stop, the parameter setting is in the Motor Engine module. The options (maybe car dependent), are something like enable, disable, and Last Setting. It requires coding using the Vediamo/Caesar program that can edit directly into MB modules. The problem getting into the ME module is that it requires a seed-key (password) to actually write changes. I wasn't able to do this myself without help from a friend who had the seed key generator. Anyway, mine now remembers my last setting, so if I turn it Off, it says Off until I enable it again - a much better option.

there is an environmental impact to replacing dead batteries.

Good to hear. Can your friend with the seed key generator also generate the required password for unlocking the Engineering Menu in COMAND 5*5?
Given the continiously disabling of (online) functionality by MB in these systems, it could be more and more required to "repair" this using the Enigneering Menu.

I don't believe the COMAND module has a seed-key restriction because I was in there a few weeks ago and enabled video-in-motion above 5 Km.
I'd have to go back in to see if there is a parameter to enable the Engineering Menu.
