What would I lose for wife's e class

I'll cross post this to the e-class forum....

My wife loves my new 2014 S class but she thinks its 'too big'. Could I configure an e class to be the 'same'?

What would I/she lose.

Thanks to all in advance

The E Class is more maneuverable and easier to park with a roomy but mid size feel. You will notice the E350 has significantly less power and has that 6 cylinder sound when accelerating. My wife's car is a full loaded 2014 E550 which has plenty of power and torque, but is hard to find. The 2015 E will not offer the 550 engine and early magazine reports indicate the new turbo 6 cylinder is a bit noisy. The E class has all of the safety features of the S class in the option packages. The premium 1 interior is very nice, however, it is not up to S Class standards. You have 3 standard interior lighting colors and you can get LED headlights as an option. All in all, my wife loves her E550 (4 matic standard in 2014) which listed for just over $78,000 and I am very impressed with the cars handling. I suspect your wife would be thrilled with a car similarly equipped, only problem is the 550's are very, very, scarce.

Drive them back to back. The E is just as safe as the S & a fine car. However, apples to oranges with an S as the levels of luxury on the S cannot be matched by other MB models. The S is truly a relaxing car to drive.

Easier to park? You do know that the parking on the S is now pretty much automatic right?

Yes, both the E and S have the self park feature. If you are not using the self park feature, the smaller car is easier to park...such as pulling into a space in a 2 car garage when the other space is occupied. I have a tight turning radius when pulling into my garage space and am more comfortable with parking the smaller car.

I'm happy to hear this. I actually gave the E Class some consideration, but I figured there HAS to be a large difference in comfort. Does the E Class come with hot stone massaging seats?

Don't get me wrong, the E is nice but in terms of comfort, ride, detail, quality. There really is no comparison. Especially for a $70k car (fully loaded E350). It has a lot of the same features, but the difference is between sitting in economy vs business class on a 747 or 777.

Not sure about that. I can lean forward with my foot to the floor in the E350. In the S its very difficult and slams everyone into their seats.

You really can't compare the current E to the new S. Might as well be cars from different manufacturers they're so far apart in terms of interior and amenities. Can't speak for drive as I haven't driven a W222 yet.

it's like comparing a stay between a Hyatt & A Park Hyatt, or a Marriott or a JW Marriott.
