WHERE IS HEATED STEERING WHEEL BUTTON/SWITCH?

OK, I give up! Just got a new 2015 S550 with Warmth & Comfort Pkg, which supposedly includes the heated steering wheel, but I cannot seem to be able to find how to urn it on. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pictures? I am sure you will enjoy the new machine.

On the left side of the steering wheel is a little "stubby" stalk. At the end of the stalk, you turn the end of the stalk to turn it on/off.

Is it also true for w222's with heated steering wheel that only the leather portion heats?

Yes. It is pretty dumb. Living in So. CA I shouldn't complain, but we have had some very cold (for us) nights here recently, getting down into the 30's & 40's and when my hands are at 10 & 2, the steering wheel feels like it just came out of the deep freeze. I guess they can't do heat under the wood because of the finish?

Thanks for that. Could they have hidden it any better?
As for photos, she's a Plain Jane: Palladium Silver/Black Exclusive, Burl Walnut, Exclusive Trim, P01, 18" wheels, MBC, Warmth & Comfort, Drivers Assistance, Surround View.
I am looking into making the VERY unwanted Panorama Roof do a "disappearing" act. If I am successful, I'll post photos. Until then, she's camera shy, as she looks just like all the other girls.

OK, I guess I'm starting to understand this NEED for photos on this site and I'll put some up when I can take some. Frankly though, I don't like the looks of this car and I knew this before I ordered it. I feel that the W221 was a MUCH better looking design. That gigantic "Jack-O-Lantern" grill, the "rope light" running lights, the "Hyundai Eqqus" tail lights, etc. and my personal worst of the worst: the standard Panorama Roof, which I simply HATE. Add to that, the absolutely IDIOTIC decision to not even provide a PLACE for even a compact spare wheel & tire! All that said, I feel it is still THE best sedan on the market, with pretty much nothing else coming close, so being an older fellow, I decided that I wanted the safety, the features, the ride quality and that stunning interior, and I'll just avert my eyes every time I walk up to it.

I'm just glad I have it, and it's -20C here this morning.

The heated wheel, arm rests and seats are very soothing.

I don't get why you can't have the wood heated. For cars that sit in the AZ sun all day, wood has no problem with high temps. I think because no one has done it yet, and most of these wheels are bought from a supplier that hasn't offered heating the whole wheel. On the W221, there is much less leather, and it's the same way, only heats on the leather portion, where I never touch.

Did you used to have a W221 at one point? Nice pics.

Yes, I had a 2013 S550, Black/Premium Black, ABC, Drivers Assistance, PO1, etc. The first black car I ever owned, and the last black car I ever will own. I really loved that car, but I just couldn't put up with the black exterior. To me, it looked fantastic within 5 minutes of being washed. The rest of the time, it was in need of a wash. Someone on this site once said it best: "you need to be a "glass half full" kind of guy to have a black car." I guess my glass is always half empty, but I will never again have a black car! That said, I think that the W222 looks best in black, mainly due to the standard Panorama Roof--which I hate--in case you didn't get that. Oh well, once inside and driving my new one, I'm as happy as a clam! This Tuesday, the RFT go bye-bye and the dealer is installing Bridgestone Serenity Plus conventionals. Can't wait!

Congrats. I love the color. Why didn't you choose a different rim? I agree It has gone cold here in So Cal but the heated steering wheel is really pointless.

Ride quality--as in quiet, soft, smooth--is very important to me. Those things are at their best with a smaller wheel diameter and a deeper tire sidewall. So, with that in mind, I went for the 18" wheels. MB, in its inimitable wisdom offers folks such as I one single choice of 18" wheels, so that's what I have. Perhaps one day, when all this low profile tire madness cools just a bit, they might think of offering 18" wheels in another choice or two. All that said, while these may not be my favorite wheels, they're not bad.

Do you have MBC? Because the ride must be buttery smooth with those rims.

I do have MBC and I must say that the ride is very nice. That said, I am a firm believer that no matter how nice a car rides on RFT, it will ride reasonably nicer on a conventional tire engineered for a quiet, comfortable ride. I have been driving the car around town with the RFT, as the dealer couldn't get the conventional (Bridgestone Serenity Plus) tires until Tuesday with the holiday. The tires ride very nicely on ribbon smooth highways. I do, however, notice that there is a stiffness to the sidewall, when I encounter some bumps around town. I'll let you know what difference I feel when the new tires are fitted next week.

I love the heated arm rests and heated seats and steering wheel too! When it's this cold, you do end up holding the wheel on the heated portion that's for sure

Rumor is for 2018, the WHOLE wheel is HEATED. But, for those that really want a heated wheel in their 14-17 S, here you go, lol.

I agree. The facelift half of the last series 221 was MB's best car since the '80's.
