This is true for the 2018 E, so I'm assuming it's true for the 2018 S:
If you come to a stop and the engine has switched off due to Eco Start/Stop... and you're ready to leave the car, just open the car door (which will put the car into Park), get out of the car, and lock the car. The car will automatically switch the car off like a Tesla does.

Here’s a few, new to me, maybe not new to anyone else:
1) front defogger turns in heated windshield if equipped
2) holding down me u button ( climate control) for about 5 seconds resets and synchronizes (so you have to set up again if you like diffuse or focus air settings, etc.)
3) holding down favorite star on the controller let’s you save the current thing (if possible) as a favorite - phone number, gps address, radio station). I think we can store 20. When time to save, you can move that entry around and save it between 2 others. If directly over/above an existing favorite (versus between) it then replaces that favorite directly below it.
4) this one is minor - there ‘s a little hook in the trunk floor cover - lift the cover and you can use the hook to keep it open. I think it’s more effort to put the hook back where it belongs after
5) comfort box can be installed in any w222 unless the refrigerator is in the way. Holes should exist in trunk area to accommodate even if not ordered as a factory option

The sales guy at the dealership showed me this & the quarter-turn knobs to attach/detach it. Because of this, he told me if I wanted this option to NOT order the car with it and instead pick it up off eBay or similar for a much reduced price.

i agree unless a lease - if a lease, and it's $300 then you pay roughly $100 over 3 years, or $33 a year.
if a purchase for $300, then you can do better on ebay. i think i payed about $160 for it. HAVEN'T USED IT ONCE SINCE, BUT I WANTED IT!!!!
when i bought my car, i tried to get them to throw it in, salesguy claims he looked at trunk with manager and it wouldn't install (BS)
same guy who told me the car had all seasons, but instead it had summer tires. they're supposed to make good on my purchase and install of the continentals
same guy who said "don't worry, it will have the keyless go button" - then 2 weeks ago swore it would go out that week - now it's supposed to come here today overnight -yeah, i could have bought on ebay for $20 - but i don't need two of them - still awaiting it. okay, done complaining

Anything else
Hey guys, I own a 14 S550. Looking to put some aftermarket stuff on, or just things to enhance a already amazing car. Wanted to try the mirroring screen to have music videos while driving etc, anyone attempt to do this?
Also, any recommendations on automatic starts that work with an iPhone?
Thanks!

Music videos while driving sounds like you’re begging for an accident - just saying, would find distracting.

I've had a TV tuner in my cars in some way/shape/form from ~1995 until TV in America went to digital. Now smartphones & the internet can replace it, but it's amazing how useful it was. Everything from September 11th, to hurricane evacuations/recovery, to weather radar & tornado reports, were all things I had on my cars' TVs over the years. You just don't be an idiot and watch the screen with the car in motion.

Found this little tidbit...
If you have any windows rolled down, and you are riding behind a smoky exhaust truck or car, hold down the recirculation button, it will close all the windows including the rear. After your in the clear again, hold down the button again and it will open the windows to the exact position they were prior to closing them... Cool....

Happy :)
On number 2, will this sync Temps? I hate when passenger sets a different temp, then the car will not reset it if no one is in the seat or after a restart, Passenger will stay at 75 and driver at 65 as an example, then you have to go into the settings every time to check off Sync....
Nice Tip!

I fooled around with some of these tricks as well last night. I pressed down on the "speak" button on the right side of the steering wheel and it did not switch my voice commands to the phone's voice activated system as opposed to the Mercedes' voice activated system. HOWEVER, and I don't how this happened, this morning I was pressing my hard keys (navi, radio, media, telephone buttons) and a beeping tone came over the sound system affirming that a key was pressed. I thought to myself, hey this might be nice but as soon as I drove the car a mile or two, the feature stopped working,...... again, I don't know how or why. Can anyone explain what I might have done as I did play around with other steering wheel buttons. Just not exactly sure what combination of buttons I pressed.

It works, but the climate control has to be on it seems. You can have the AC on rest, but as long as the fan or climate control in general is on, it will work.

Hi all,
Thought I'd start a thread so I could learn from all of you little, ( not so obvious ) tips and tricks regarding our car.
I'll start with one I learned by watching someone do a YouTube review of his S550:
If you push your foot down hard on the brake pedal, it puts the car in a " hold " mode. Touch the gas pedal and it takes it out of this mode.
Anyone else?
Steve

Then I noticed MB changed to normal 3 stop/stage door hinge system.
I am not sure since when.
I had no doubt that my S450 has it but no luck

Here's a neat little trick I didn't see anywhere in the thread:
** Trunk button in the driver's door not only opens the trunk but (if you push the button down) it will also CLOSE the trunk for you. Very nice if you're dropping someone off and you'd really rather that they not try to slam the trunk shut (because they never realize there's a button there) or their hands are full.
