MB "First Class Demand Notes?"
I know this should probably be posted in a different forum, but this is where I live, so I thought I would ask guys I trust.
I received a letter from MBFS offering "First Class Demand Notes," as an investment vehicle. Have any of you done this? Any comments? Thanks!

My portfolio is doing better than their return but looks interesting. Maybe if you invested enough you would get some political pull with MB for a larger trunk and a real spare tire!

If one is after "high" interest rates on a liquid account, there are some savings accounts from well-known institutions like Barclays and Goldman that pay over 2%:

I wasn’t talking “portfolio” here, just wondering if MB might come up with some special perks down the line for those who have invested with these. Also, for a pure, liquid account, 2.75% isn’t bad right now. There are always bigger and flashier investment vehicles, but for liquid cash, I just may give these a try and see if there might not be some perks at the end of the black, gray & white rainbow.

I would check first to see if the notes are created here in the U.S. or in Germany. If in Germany you may end up paying some foreign taxes on the proceeds.

Thanks for pointing that out, I had gone by Utopia's link which I now see is an outdated rate. I think 2.75% is pretty good, all things considered. If you're investing a significant sum, the hassle of a private offering may be worth the interest rate differential. Not FDIC insured, though, and I'm not about to check MBFS' credit rating vs Goldman, Barclays, etc, as I'm not interested myself.
