I have a 2014, Bluetooth is built into the car for phone. What is the purpose of that module?

Had one in the center console of my 2006 ML63... It's the early MB BT module.

This is a Bluetooth SAP V4 cradle (which can have its own SIM card) so it can be used as a build-in phone without needing a smart phone.
This wasn't available in the US on the W222, but in Europe/other parts of the world the S-Class is available with dedicated phones build-in (hands-free or rear seat handsets), so I assume that is what the OP has.

You seem very well versed on this. Do you know if and how one can get the Phone App for the Rear Executive Package on a w222. In some photos / brochures, they show a phone app to manage all settings in the rear.... 2014

That app only works for 2014 & early 2015 models. I think the following app only works on iPads (no iPhone). It's called "Comand Touch". Since I only have my phone on me I can't check if it's available in the US app store. If not, you could still create a European Apple ID if needed.

I have a 2014... I just got off with Apple Support, they are unable to check if the app exists. They said I would have to Open up a Overseas account, have a credit card and even if the app existed in Europe, there is no way to use it here unless I had an old iPhone etc. that I would keep in the car for such use.... Any ideas / suggestions are welcome if a way exists. Anyone out of the country that can confirm if the app exists.

Another interesting thing is in Europe, if I am correct, you can connect the car to your Phones Data plan, no need to add a data plan to the car.

No sign of Comand Touch on the UK App Store.

Here is a link. Did you use the app store on an iPad? It won't show on any other device. Unfortunately I can't tell which countries app store carries it (German at least I assume).
