Stop/Start Feature
On a 2015 S550 that has a button to the right of center console with the letter A on it, that is supposed to turn on and off the Start/Stop feature at idle......does it work on the 2015 ??? Mine does not work at all even when the button indicator light can be tapped on and off !! Could this have been a software change (turning the thing off) by the original owner ? Can it actually be done ? As many owners do not like this feature, should I leave it alone even though it may play a part in higher gas consumption ???

Mine seems to work intermittently. I'm guessing it depends how many accessories you have running: heated seats, massage, ventilated, a/c, heat, etc. I thought it was ambient temperature dependent but, we've had some big temp swings here and it definitely works below freezing. I bought mine cpo'd a month ago so highly doubt there is any proprietary software affecting it.

Yes, sometimes, haha. The button is constantly green for me, but the engine rarely shuts off when I come to a stop. It is thus far difficult to determine what causes it to work or not work.

I have a '15 S-600 that I let sit for most of a year while driving my GLS450.
After putting it back on the road, the stop/start feature does not work until I have been driving for more than a couple of hours.
I think it is related to some battery that drained over the sitting spell.
I am not going to fix it.
Now that I am driving the S-600 more, the GLS 450 stop/start has started to not work, either--even without touching the button.
I am not going to fix that one, either.

There are Software changes for start stop that you can install when you buy the change, (aftermarket on this forum)
For example I installed the Software change to allow videos to be played on the main screen while driving.
I imagine this will go with the car. I can remove it but I'd have to find the original upgrade memory card.
