This is what happend to my S550 2015 model when I loaded a few CD's to try.
The Cd's got stuck inside and a non stop noisy clicking sound keeps coming every 2 seconds.
Th MB dealer attempted to reprogram it but failed.
Opened ticket with Daimler, Germany but at the end they decided the Command needs to be replaced.
The command cost $ 7300 (not including labor cost)
My advise....'DO NOT MISS WITH THE CD PLAYER IN YOUR CAR'
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE CD PLAYER IN YOUR CAR IS THE COMMAND UNIT.
THIS NEW COMMAND SYSTEM DESIGN IS A TOTAL MESS, IT CONTROLS ALL THE FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR IN ONE PLACE. IF IT FAILS GET READY FOR $7300
CHEARS

I have heard that before , leaving CDs in the Comand would cost you a real fortune (in a bad way ) That's why I had never put CDs when I left the car no driven more than a few days .It sounded very weird but had no problems with it

Wow! I had the same thing happen to me. Fortunately, it was repaired under warranty but it sounds like the same problem. They told me they have to send the COMMAND unit back to Germany and they’ll return my CD’s in 6 months. Just curious, did you have any burned cd’s in your cd changer or were all of your cd’s purchased? I had a mix and the service advisor thought the burned cd’s may have been the problem.

I guess this is the one good think about having a 2018 without a CD player in the car. I REALLY miss my CD player but to end up with this happening down the road one day, out of warranty no less, it would be really bad. Who would have thought the lowly CD could F up your car so badly to the tune of $7300+?
Back in the day, a CD player was about $100 and if it broke, you just get a new one. Damn, things have become so freakin' complicated. I miss old school
