Back in the S-class club
I just bought a 2015 S550 with only 23k miles and am happy to be back! I had a W220 which I drove for 10+ years and loved it. I drove a bmw 335 for a few years and understand why the 3-series is so iconic, but it just wasn't comfortable as a daily driver after 3 years. So, I'm back in an S-class. :-) I still have about 6 months of factory warranty left and will be going through the TSBs to make sure everything is good before the warranty expires. This car has way more gadgets that my old W220. I'm picking the car up Monday so it's going to be a long Memorial day weekend. Lol

I actually pick the car up tomorrow at 1pm so will post pics when I get it back home. As for the build sheet, I've been pulling info from datamb.com trying to figure out what's standard and what's optional. I do know it has the driver assist pack and the premium 1 package, Palladium silver, black nappa, 23k miles. I've been daily driving the porsche but it's setup for track use so I'm looking forward to a comfortable ride again. Lol.

Very cool! You are probably one of very few who tracks a turbo. I have so much respect for that! Did you do any intercooler mods to keep the turbos cool? How do the turbos hold up on the track?

The turbos are awesome on the track, no heat sink issues or problems at all. My home track is mid-ohio which is a fairly technical course that will challenge any car, but I've never had an issue. I have Champion Motorsport intercoolers, along with exhaust, gt3 throttle body, fueling, suspension, and probably most important a custom tune by Protomotive. The car is setup to run E85 which keeps everything cooler and allows for advancing the timing. I'm probably around 700hp which is beyond my driving ability to take full advantage of. If you're not careful, full throttle coming out of a turn will get the car dancing and hair raised on the back of your neck. Lol. I also have a dragstrip a few miles from my house so like to take it up there on nights when they're running street cars. Most people are shocked to see a car with street tires run low 10-sec quarter mile times. It's a lot of fun to accelerate like that, the seat just sucks you in. There's a lot of 650 motorcycles that can't keep up with that. Hahahaha

So I've had the car a few days and absolutely love the upgrade from my old W220. There's only two quirks that I'd like to ask about. First is the ventilated seats--just like my W220 I can barely feel the seats cooling, but I will concede my back doesn't sweat while they're on so maybe it's meeting it's purpose, I realize ventilated seats are not the same as cooling seats. I guess the gripe here is that I wish MB had cooling seats. Gripe #2, the touchpad doesn't work so I need to bring it in to the dealer to fix. I'm just curious if you all think this is a software update? Hardware R&R? or something else? Everything else about the car is great, and with only 23k miles it should last a long time. ;-)
P.S. I changed my screen-name so I don't need to login with social media, but it's still me. Lol

Unfortunately I returned the car today during the 7 day grace period. The car threw a check engine light and had a continuous cylinder 8 misfire, constant stumbling, etc. The dealer couldn't look at it until after the grace period so I decided to not risk it even though it was likely a bad coil or plug. I loved the car and am still in the market for a clean car, but I didn't want to chance and see if it was a piston ring or valve seal, or one of the other more rare causes. :-(

Dang, that must mean he spun at the end of the long straight. Lol, my car would be hitting 160 mph on that straight. I'd of shat myself.

Funny story One the instructors was once asked "What is the silver thing in the trees at the end of the long straight? The reply was "A Mustang"

Driving S560 loaner until my new car is ready and enjoying it tremendously, so good that I seriously think the S63 is an overkill for a daily driver but it's too late already and my wife is a snob pushing for an upgrade.
Really, best car in that category, nothing really comes close and at roughly $100k (give or take), a great value considering the luxury, performance, quality and superior safety it offers.
