Reanimation

Has anyone had an e36 with an AUTOMATIC gearbox if so how reliable was it. Reason I ask theirs a nice 6 cylinder touring for sale down the road from me, I have researched auto gearbox but you only read about the problems.

Contingent on maintenance. I've had some last 20 years with no issues, some have failed within two. I've an E30 with a similar ZF that has lasted 30 years with no issues at all. Service history is key, but even if you do need to replace it, they are very easy to find.
