Seattle Area Folks: Mercer Is. Car Show and MB Rally
Thought I'd put this in a separate thread. Mercer Island Car Show on Sunday July 11th:

Register your Benz using the link. Pre-Meet at the park above I-90--the grounds will be a nice backdrop for a photo op with our cars lined up before we head down to the show (directions below, time TBD):

From I-90 westbound take Island Crest Way (Exit #7).
Continue straight through the stop light on North Mercer Way.
Turn left onto 76th Avenue SE.
Turn right onto SE 24th Street.
Continue up the hill and turn right onto West Mercer Way.
The parking lot will be on the left just past the I-90 entrance.
From I-90 eastbound take West Mercer Way (Exit #6).
Turn left onto West Mercer Way.
The parking lot is on your left just past the I-90 entrance.
This will be fun if everyone comes out, will be a good chance to meet fellow Benzheads. If it's nice out we can go for a drive out through Bellevue or something after.

Sweet, let's do this! Meet at 8:30am at that parking lot overlooking the I-90 floating bridge. Car check-in at the show begins at 9 so that should give us some time to chat and take some pics (cross your fingers for good weather). Got a couple replies in other forums so hopefully we'll have a good turnout! And def. spread the word!

The pre-meet point is fixed for 8:30 at the park overlooking the I-90 floating bridge, it's called "the Lid" (directions posted above).
Check-in for car show begins at 9am so we don't necessarily have to be there at 9 on the dot. The show begins at 10 so we can stick around at the park and take some pics of all the cars until about 9:15-9:30 and then caravan to the car show together when it looks like most have arrived.
To answer the question about showing up in modern Mercs, I don't see any issue. This show is pretty casual--definitely not on the level of the Concours they hold every year in Kirkland. I've seen people show up in modern 'Vettes, Porsches, and even Mini Coopers. The nice thing about this gathering is that there is a wide range of cars from Model Ts to classic SLs to BMW 2002s. Nicely done modern MBs and AMGs won't look a hair out of place.
Feel free to throw out any other questions should they arise. Looking forward to meeting you guys, it's looking like we'll have a solid turnout!

Thanks for posting the pics, they turned out very nice...I lost the pics I took, so I am glad to see these. The hood ornament and hardtop-view shots look excellent...and those two black beasts look nice together too. Still can't get over that C126 paint quality, and I know there isn't a crazier 140 around here.
And yeah, it was cool getting together...hopefully we can do it again soon.

The shot of the fintail through the canopy of the SEC is my favorite shot. You should definitely register your car for the August 15th Show N Shine up at the Nile Golf Course, there will be some other younger modders there too so it should be fun . . .

I wonder if I would take the E55 or the old beast...I'd like to take both to an event sometime, but I don't have any friends who'd want to waste a day with cars they don't care about. Maybe I'll finally join up and see you there.
