Soon-To-Be First Time MB Owner: 2023 E450 4Matic Cabrio!

For fellow owners and enthusiasts in Seattle, WA area!

A few folks suggested to me to ask the dealer - during PDI and per-delivery (ETA November) - NOT to drill holes in the front bumper for my license plate frame. I asked the dealer and they want the request in writing, then I started counting a number of cars in my commute to/from work w/o a front license plate and I never realized there are sooooooooooo many out there. Then I google DOL WA and it reads in plain language that it is indeed required, so what gives?

Are these drivers taking a chance ( for the sake of maintaining aesthetic appeal ) with avoiding a fine of ~$130-$200?

I'm just wondering if it's worth the anxiety every time I pass a highway patrol or police car in my route.

Thoughts?
