They are saying $10,000.00 installed and out of the door for a CLK430 or E430.
Looks like from the results that a Kleeman might eat this one for lunch....but...still...it is an alternative.

This supercharger had been discussed in the E Class forum before:
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...arger+and+e430
If you read the note sent by Bruce Eikelberger, Director of Engineering, to KenE55, you will notice IMPOSSIBLE promises:
Thank you for your interest in HPS products.
Since there are no external differences in the 430 and
the 55 engines our E430 system will install on the E55
with no modifications with excellent results. Our
recent testing of a CLK55 with our system resulted in
a reduction of the 0-60 acceleration time from 4.75
seconds to 3.8 seconds. Our Supercharger Systems are
distributed by CEC (Claus Ettensberger Corporation).
Your contact will be Jeff Cadavid (jeff@cecwheels.com).
You can reach him by telephone at: Office 800/766-0064
or Cel 310/753-7534. Thanks again for your interest in
HPS.
Bruce Eikelberger
Director of Engineering
If this were possible, I would not have the Kleemann Supercharger on my car. I'm putting to the wheel what this one has at the crank, and my 0-60 is no where near 3.8 sec. Even the Kleemann 55K's are no where near these times.
Thanks
Ben

Maybe they are doing their tests in a vaccum ! ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The proof may well be in the pudding...you have generously said that you would put your vehicle up against any other to put this question to rest.
My question is...will HPS offer up the same?
The dyno results seem to imply that the Kleeman is the clear performance choice.....

Just Curious - Is the HPS a home Do-it-yourself type install or does it require somewhat major surgery like the Kleemann? It also looks a lot easier to remove once you trade/sell our car.

Naaawww....you definately have to have it installed by HPS I think.
I don't know if it would be easier than the Kleeman to remove...I think the Kleeman is supposed to be fairly easy to remove.

The HPS unit appears to be a "bolt-on" type install whereas the Kleemann completely removes the intake and replaces it with the Kleemann unit. Of course both can be removed - the Kleemann probably takes more effort to install and remove.

I wouldn't neccessarily say that it's a bolt on type...that's probably a question best left for them.
I can't tell that much from the pictures....they aren't step by step photos.

I've been looking into this system for my ML430. They're saying 10-12 hours for a professional. They sub out the work and charge you $1k for installation.
Anybody put this system in yet? They offer a warranty for the voided out drivetrain, that's an interesting benefit of choosing them.

I think that's the main problem.
The Kleeman is the more well known, proven solution.
We have yet to see anyone come forward and talk about their experience with the HPS supercharger.
At this point, it's really not about performance...as the Kleeman clearly packs more punch. It's an issue of number of units deployed and having someone tell us about a successful install and post-install experience.

..............I prefer the Kleeman supercharger to the HPS. Just for the record, the Kleemann 55k belonging to Donnie Drummond and Bill at Mb autowerks has documentted 0-60 of 3.9 secs and quter mile of I believe 12.6 secs and left a Viper behind in the process. No other mods other than a Kleemann suspension. How much of the added HP from the Kleemann supercharger was used to achieve this feat is not know. Yes, I understand that not everything about a performance car lies in 0-60 and quatermile times and for that reason I bellieve that a Kleemann CLK55 will demilosh an HPS CLK55. However, my question is given the traction problems at the very extremes of HP output.........exactly how much more "useful" HP is needed in a great car such as the stock CLK55 to propel from 0-60 in the 3.9 secs that the Kleemann CLK55 did? Will the HP from an HPS supercharger, even though it is less than that of the Kleemann be enough to do this?

Out Of Control!!
It is ok for non-sponsors to answer questions about their products, in fact we welcome it. It would be unfair if people could make statements, without us allowing them to defend themselves. But I agree, it is definitely time to begin talking about sponsoring the board HPS, as your posts are becoming more and more about getting people to contact you, rather than answering questions. If you use these forums in attempts to gain sales, you need to sponsor. Without sponsors, MBWorld would not exist. Please email me for sponsorship information.
Thanks

Looks to me like kleemann has hps beat down pat, you only get 100hp for 10k? wtf is that, for 10k i would go to evosport and have them go nuts on my motor, or save up for a kleemann. and with the kleemann you can pop the hood and it looks no different, no odd looking system under the hood. JUST BUY THE KLEEMANN.
