Exhaust Question

I drive an '01 CLK 55 and I just ordered an Eisenmann Race exhaust for the car. I note that Supersprint makes a replacement for the center resonator that they claim helps to reduce backpressure. I was wondering if anyone has replaced the center resonator as well as the rear muffler during exhaust upgrades and, if so, what results you noticed? I know that most MBs are designed to have a certain minimal amount of exhaust backpressure in order for the ECU to be able to manage fuel mixture, etc. and that people have actually lost power by eliminating too much back pressure from the system. Any thoughts or input appreciated. If the Supersprint would be a good mod, there is no easier time to install it than when the car is already up on the lift at the muffler shop for the Eisenmann.

Eisenmann and Supersprint Installed Today!

Just got back from the muffler shop after installing the Supersprint Center Resonator and the Eisenmann Race muffler on my '01 W208 CLK55. VERY pleased. I was concerned about it maybe being too loud, but it's actually very mellow. Just a bit more than stock, but not at all obnoxious or out of place. Looks fantastic! I imagine the tone will change a bit during the first several hundred miles as the packing "seasons." Oh well, no big news, just having fun and feeling excited again about my now 5 year old car (delivery date was Oct. of 2000).
