Are you reading the back of the green insert they sent.
It says "you'll dump 20 paper air filters into out nation's landfills in the first 100 thousand miles of driving"...then * and at the bottom the * reads Based on recommended air filter replacement every 4-5K or with every oil change
Just wondering where you got that info...I couldn't find anything like that on/in the package.
Lemme know when you can....K&N's are nothing like that.
By the way everyone, they are the SAME as K&N's as far as seat of pant dyno and throttle response. People that say night and day over K&N are dreaming. Nice filters though. Would buy again....provided I am not oiling every 5K....that would blow.

If you ordered the service kit, you can read the bottles. It says exactly what I said, they recommend reoiling the air filter with every oil change which they say is 4-6000 miles.

Go with greenies....I had probs with my MAF. Dunno if it had anything to do with the K&N's, but the lesson ain't cheap at two 'c' notes a pop for the MAF.

I'm new in the Benz world..I bought a 300E 1988 from a collector in IL original owner.
What's MAF and where in the enine compartment is it located?
Also..what would be a Good oil filter? Somebody recomended MOBIL oil filter and also FRAM..do not Know......!......What about BOSCH?

Dunno if repost..I went to stock and am willing to try the greenies. I HAVE had problems with the MAF just for everyone's 411 when I employed K&N's.
