Renntech vs. Kleeman

I will be taking delivery of my 06' S65 in the morning. I may be a little premature by asking this but, does any one recommend either Renntech or Kleeman for the ECU and Trans upgrade?
I know that Kleeman boasts 700 HP compared to Renntech at 670 HP. I believe that Renntech is a little more expensive as well. Has anyone compared the two? Does one perform better than the other? Drivability differences between the two(normal driving conditions)? Etc.?
Any info on this.......please tell me!

It has been debated with no conclusion. Everyone has their favorite. I still believe the man and the company who were AMG are the way to go if cost/distance/time are of no consequence.

..........there are performance numbers for Renntech modified Mercedes V12 Biturbo engines in which customers have actually taken there cars to the track and obtained 1/4 mile times. these usually range from mid to low 11's. I have not seen such info for the the Kleemann cars. For what ever reason, it looks like when it comes to the V12 biturbo cars, customers are gravitating towards Renntech.

Kleemann tends to inflate #'s, Renntech tends to outperform their posted #'s. Both are good companies, but I am uncomfortable with the fact that Kleemann just makes claims that are untrue. I have spoken to engineering at both companies in detail and personally believe more in Renntech on ECU upgrades. I have seen actual dyno sheets (and posted some for a 65 engine, do a search) and think the Renntech cars do slightly better.

Also if you are thinking of a Renntech upgrade I do recommend that you talk to Neal at Euroteck www.euroteckmotorsports.com. It will be worth your while.

I know the history on both the guy who started Kleeman and the guy who started Renntech.....
That said, Renntech was a little rough and did have some customers with problems early-on. Since then they have done a ton of development and have done a ton of modding, and they are now sourcing quite a few mods from others such as MKB, etc.
I know for a fact that the chances of your experiencing a problem with a Kleeman mod are just about zero -- their stuff is that well-engineered, that good. Renntech has come up lately to be very good also. (and where is Brabu$ in this discu$$ion?).
I don't think that you can go wrong with either. Pick the one who's service facilities are closest to you - that would be my advice. (And talking to Euroteck first probably wouldn't be a bad idea either).

Kleemann still claims 1043 NM of torque for the 65 engine. I have an e-mail from Corey Umemoto, saying that number should not be on the website as that is with the use of larger turbos that never made it to production. I have posted dyno sheets on this, and you can see for yourself that the turbochargers on this engine run out of steam fast and power drops at high RPM's when they are overdriven to produce more midrange power.

There are a number of 600 owners here that are running mid 11 second quarter mile times with Renntech ECU upgrades. These are 600's, not 65's, running on stock tires.

You can call Renntech and talk to Hartmut Feyhl, who was head of engineering at AMG for something like 19 years and he will speak with you.

I agree with ClayJ that Kleemann makes very good products. But in this one instance, I think you are better off with Renntech. Especially considering they make a very nice airbox that goes along with that ECU.

I believe Neal at Euroteck sells both, so you can get his opinion as well.
