Angry W209 S/C Lean problem suspect !

First time tested by technician.
110 C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope the engine won't blow up.
Never heard of a S/C temp climbing SO HIGH before.
I'd said it's FAILED with my W209 S/C installation.
All keep the stock bar setting, there's something wrong of
the feul feeding to the engine.
The reasonable Temp range should be around 90~95 Celcius from those C32K , C32AMG and before my Kleemannized practice.
I expect the problem can be solved soon.

It's the new one for W209/W211,that's why I've waited for 1.5 months till the new package delievered.
I can't image there's no solid installation procedure & cautions of it.
leave the "guess" to those poor engr. & technician.
Hi-temp ? lean ? feul feeding troubled ?
Not a word mentioned to them before they saw 110 Celcius
on my BRAND NEW CLK500 !
The price to buy an SL55AMG in the states here in Taiwan.
Thanks for caring, I'll keep posting how they fix the problem.

p.s I paid in advance,that's ok, I think I'm buying quality package
not contract of experiment.

I must say its hard for me tounderstand what you are saying- do you mean engine coolant temp ?

If so there are several possibilities here. First the engine is not lean- I can assure you of this.

The thermostat has to be removed and re-fitted in a new housing for clearance of the SC driveshaft. If you remove this t-stat and dont pay VERY CLOSE attention to re-fit it is possible to jam the t-stat closed. This will undoubtedly cause very high engine coolant temps.

Have them re-check this first.

Hi, Sleestack
I trust the S/C itself and happy to upgrade my car.
My concern is always the tunning process
long before I practice it myself & raised a few questions here.
(1) Put a regulator to increase the boost of feul pump
They tested 6 bar ? not match early experience of E430/S500
which read 8 bar for V8 models.
(2) S/C boost read 0.45 bar, fine as well as stock setting.
I'm going there personally to review the whole installation & tunning process.
Poor learning curve or lack of clear manual to guide technician
well follow-up, I'd like to find out the answer.
No doubt, they're very serious on my car, I told them it's
the first time aftermarket practice in the world, they're proud of it,too.

Yes, the easy reading regards the temperature.

If so there are several possibilities here. First the engine is not lean- I can assure you of this.

and that means the reading is biased, right ?

Have them re-check this first.
Thanks for advice, Kleemann. I'll told them.

Today is off for Typhoon, announced by Government.
I'm very much appreciate the technician overtime to keep tunning
my car.
Several adjustment has been done to ensure & optimize the cooling & feul feeding.
I'm goning to prepare a backup ECU chip with more gas feed
curve , then make comparison with the stock one.
Short test yesterday, The CLK50K wheelspins thru 1st & 2nd gear as expectation.
Huge torque of CLK that my C32AMG is now mismatched. The 275/35-18 P-zero is a jump out of C32,too.
Tires screams w/ESP on till the 2nd gear shift !!!!

I feel comfortable a little.
Poor weather now, leave further test tomorrow.

If your car is running this hot !!! Be very careful for now until it fix because it does not take much to crack head and valves.

Thanks, Linh.
After a few hard test run myself, the reading on the conditioner
shows 90 Celcius,a lot of fine tune seems optimized the whole
system.
I'll keep monitoring the temp thru the digital data on conditioner.

"Breathless" is the word to describe a beast around 500 hp.
W/Factory muffler, CLK50K is very very quiet, all the weaving on
roads sounds mute to me,in 1000~1500 rpm you're doing 60 mph
Push the pedal a little, wow ! 120 mph. confuse the
driver,do I drive that fast on a 40 mph road ?
Cars around look standstill once you're pushing, with very low rpm, car moves effortlessly to the speed you've no idea anymore.

Met the president of Carlsson/Japan, he speaks english well !
Take a close look of Kleemann S/C, he's very impressive of it.
what a small world !

Question

I can hear the pulley whistles in idle rpm.
As rev up, the sound is no more obvious to hear.
Does anyone with Kleemann S/C heard the same whistle ?

I remember when my car first was Kleemannized. I was driving around giggling from the new power. I'm not sure what whistling you are referring to. At idle, I hear nothing new. At WOT, there is a nice scream from the SC and engine, but not a whistle or whine. You've got an awesome car, enjoy it!

Two issues I found so far

(1) I can hear the "pulley" spin whistles in idle rpm.
suppose S/C is not engaged in idle rpm.
As rev up, the sound is no more obvious to hear of.
(2) W209/W211 modified something regarding the feul tank ?
The level sensor malfunction, failed to send warning msg when I was cruising till the last drop of feul !!
**Before Kleemannized, the indicator of feul tank works fine.
It's extremely danger in the highway.
Too bad the side effect looks so terrible to the driver.
A nice cop came close to me and help calling a toll.

Sorry to hear things didn't go smooth as you would think it should. So, did you tow it to the dealer...lol? I hope that kleemann will pay for it to solve this problem.

I can hear the "pulley" spin whistles in idle rpm.
That's because i don't think kleemann S/C has a built in clutch. So the S/C will run constantly but you still shouldn't suppose to hear the S/C whinning noise at idle at all. I'm like you, hated the S/C whinning noises.

You can always get a louder exhaust to mask the noise or a better stereo. I got the better stereo, now I'm hunting down an exhaust. These MB engines sound worse than my Harley motor. That's why they put loud exhaust on Harley's, to drown out the clatter from the engine.

Good to hear that you have solved the 110 Degree problem.

I am interested to know:

(1) What caused the heat problem ??
(2) How did you solve it ??
(3) Was it the thermostat ??

Thanks

Hi, Nong :
Glad to know we've similiar taste here.
(1) Feul supply is not enough.
(2) Adjusted resistence (Kleemann use this to regulate A/F signals) & lowered the start temp of cooling fan.
(3) No,the engr. told me they've even adviced this issue to Kleemann to modify the design thus thermostat connection is improved than before.
How's your plan of SL50K ?

Hi, Linh
I asked the tow truck drive me to gas station, and the problem is gone .
Strange, the feul level indicator is now function, I'll put it in probation for a few days.

The problem with the fuel indicator has nothing to do with the KLEEMANN system, unless the installer has pulled over wires inside the tank durring install.

These MB fuel indicators are completely BS, my W 220 S 50 K, shows zero liters and zero milage, then you are getting a heart attack and start looking for a gas station.
When I are filling up, I still have 15 - 20 L in the tank.

Shine :

I thing you have the opposit problem.

I've actually gone through 4 fuel indicators, all before the Kleemann was installed on my car.
