magnaflow setup

have anybody tried the magnaflow setup yet? I dont want to spend much money with the remus, plus I seen in this forum people saying that the magnaflow is a bit nicer than the remus, its less load and it has the same deep noise. let me know what you guys think, I dont want my car to sound like a HONDA. lol

thanks

I just replaced my stock muffler with a stainless Magnaflow XL Performance exhaust on my 325i and I love it! I immediately noticed an increase in performance and it sounds pretty good; not too loud, but has a nice little rumble.

Here's a pretty good example of what it sounds like:

However, I wouldn't put this on my benz, because I like my benz to be quiet and classy

you have to get a universal muffler and custom piping

I did a custom 2.5" cat-back pipe and replaced the rear o.e.m muffler with a Magnaflow "street series" 5x8" oval muffler with the 3.5" stainless dual tips.
Looks AWSOME, I get great compliments and deff. add to the cars look. In total I didnt spend more than $350 for a fully functional exhaust, the piping is aluminum with several coats of exhaust paint and the muffler is of course stainless steel.

Things i like:

- looks AWSOME.
- power increase in the low end 1k-3.5K rpm
- sounds AWSOME out side.. it has a high-pitch sound..with a nice rumble to it, similar to the one you would hear in a modena 360.

things I dont like:

- muffler is to small compared to OEM muffler, therefore you get lots of interior noise...

thats about it.....

i would not use the 14816 on your car, imo it will be way too loud. the universal magnaflow mufflers with tips are generally used on japanese 4cyl cars. If you do want to go with the magnaflow, use the largest cross-section that will fit in your stock location, buy the tips seperately, and then custom bend the piping in-between. this will give you the best result and not look out of place on your mb
