Engine knocking during initial acceleration
I recently bought a 2002 c230 coupe and am noticing a knocking in the engine when the car is first accelerated , from a stop. if i manually change gears, the knocking is minimal, however, in "D", the knocking is there and is more if i am at a uphill stop light and then accelerate.
I have also noticed that after running for 15-20 minutes, the knocking is scarce, but it comes off and on. I use premium gas and the previous owner told me he did the same thing.
Any suggestions? Should I try one of the "fuel performance" additives ? Could it be spark plugs?
