Performance chip interchangeable?
Ive got a customer with a 2004 SL600 and a 2007 S600...could he take the chip out of the 2004 and put it in the 2007? Common sense would tell me no, but was just thinking they might just have to change the computer code or something...I believe it's a Kleeman chip...tia

We tie all of our software upgrades to the car's VIn/hardware/software numbers. The tuning is not interchangeable between cars. With these cars, we are not swapping chips, we are actually reprogramming the ECU.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Even if it was possible to swap the chip to get the tune benefits, there are tons of other electronic parameters monitored by the ECU, many of which have changed and evolved over the 3 years between 2004 and 2007 models. The tuners only change a few parameters to gain the power, but 99% of the ECU remains unchanged.
