Muffler recommendation for MB 5.0L V8?
Hi,
I'm looking for two new mufflers that will give a better sound on my 2002 G500. Any recommendations? I'm not looking for a complete exhaust system upgrade since getting a few more HP is not my goal. The cheapest complete upgrade I can find is from BRABUS and costs $2400 plus labor, and RENNTech has one for nearly $10k! I'd rather spend a few hundred on new mufflers for now and save my money for a G55 AMG in the future.
I want a sound similar to what's available on new AMG vehicles, not something that scares the neighbors. Would I be able to use the mufflers from a G55 without their special headers (which won't fit the stock 5.0L V8)? Will an MB dealer in the US sell me AMG parts like that?
Any suggestions?
