Can't decide sl500 vs e55
Hello everyone new to this site-originally i was a member of s5oc.com because i was going to get an Audi S5-decided not to simply because i dont feel like buying a 60k$ car right now lol--Im trying to decide between buying an 04 e55 amg or an 04 sl500-now if i got the sl500 what would i have to do to it to get it to run 11.5-12 1/4 miles and 0-60 around 4-4.5...................
how much does the ecu upgrade add to the sl500(and how much does it cost)
i would prefer to get the SL as long as i could get it to run number better then or atleast on par with the E55 amg
(p.s. please include estimated costs if possible to and upgrade advice lol)

You are not going to get the SL500 to go 11.5-12 without a LOT of expense....the E55 will do it almost stock in good conditions and a good driver.
They are much different cars though...so if you want the SL series and want to go 11.5-12 seconds...get the SL55 AMG.

if you want speed, 4 doors = E55
if you want roadster, looks (not saying E55 doesnt look good, the SL is just a little more flashy) = SL500
my suggestion SL55..you get best of both and they're not THAT much more then SL500's

even if you purchased the Renntech stage 2 or Kleemann supercharger kit ($13K to $15K), i don't think you would be running 11's.
the E55 and SL500 are 2 , totally different animals. Think MORE about not having a back seat, or NOT being able to drop the top.....don't compare them in the same sentence when it comes to performance.
