Torque converters, where can i get 1 for my clk430?

I was in my friend's GS430 this weekedn after he had just installed a torque converter, ans WOW, the difference was night and day!!!!!

Where can i get 1 for my CLK430? I checked all the normal MB players but can't seem to find anyone that carries it.

Anyone? Thanks.

Torque converter? Or a higher ratio differential? Try Bergwerks for a diff.

Your car is an automatic, it already has a torque converter. What you are probably looking for is a new differential. This is not as simple an upgrade as it is for the Lexus. All newer Mercedes require a new EGS controller to properly control the ESP and shifting. Installing just the differential without the EGS controller would result in the car going into constant limp mode, as the wheels would be spinning much faster than the car believes they should be. MKB makes a great differential and EGS upgrade for around $5,000.

He's asking if there is a torque converter available for the CLK with a higher stall (rpm) than stock. This is a basic upgrade for musclecars that drag race. It allows the engine to rev higher before the transmision engages. It is especially usefull for engines that have been modified for top-end horsepower at the expense of low end torque. (i.e. small blocks with high overlap cams)

Renntech has one for about $1,600, but I haven't heard any feedback on it.
