Simplest Performance Mods for a 55 AMG engine
I have just bought a CLK 55 AMG (2005 model year) registered in Nov 2004. I was wondering what performance modifications are available for the engine.
I have heard super charging is an option (similar to the SL55 and E55) - and that will probably have to wait a couple of months (until I swallow the car cost) -
Is there any other modifications worth making, or that you guys recommend ? Apologies for the beginner level question.

You can do a few things. Adding a supercharger obviously would give you the most bang for the buck - make that a lot of bucks though! If you have the means though I would do this - either through Kleemann or Renntech. Personally I would pick Kleemann but I have some bias so... If you don't want to spend that amount of money or aren't ready for that then on that engine (same as whats in my C55) I would do headers and ecu/chip. I have the Kleemann ones (which replace the primary cats and require some welding). See here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...eformance.html
There are also ones that are simply bolt on from some very good vendors
on this site that you can check out - VRP, Evosport, AMS. Also, check out the C32/C55 AMG or the CLK55 AMG forums on this site..

I just picked up a 2006 Diamond Black C55 as a daily driver. The paint reminds me of the Black Opal that was on my 2001 CLK55.
