Air Filters
We still havent figured out the issues on airfilters. Some say, K&N, some say ITG. Does anyone have any of these in their car?
I heard not much in performance improvements...but it gives out a nice sound. I have an exhaust so maybe it might improve the sound aswell?? INPUT on performance/sound and if its even worth it will help. Anyone also know anything about the whole intake system?

Actually in terms of performance, changing the airfilter can yield 10-15 additional HP in a 5.5L engine. While this would likely be less in a 320, you can still see that it helps. Evosport recommends ITG filters over K&N because they filter dirt particles better than K&N filters.

So u mean just the filter itself can improve the HP....no need to change hoses? Maybe ill just go ahead and try it regardless of performance. It'll be a lil experiment. One problem with ITG...there homepage doesnt seem to say that they carry one for the c320.

I'm running a K&N air filter. The problem with ITG is they only make their filters for the C-class and or SLK cars. Nothing for the 3.2 and larger. K&N is only your only game.

I run K&N air filters in all my cars and have been doing so for over 15 years.
I never have really noticed a sound difference after the K&N install, however, I do notice some added MPG's .. Supposedly there is a bit of a HP increase as well, however, I don't think you would really be able to feel the difference. Only the Dyno will be able to tell.

Jorel, I have been running K&N filters for about 15 years as well. I first started using them in turbo motors, and boy what a difference it made on spool time. Same thing on Supercharged cars. As far as normally aspirated cars I have not seen much of a difference in performance. I mainly kept buying the filters because you buy them once, and never again. Call me cheap! $39-49 dollars once, and I clean and oil them about every 30,000 miles. The can of oil I bought about fifteen years ago from K&N still has more than half in it. So really got my moneys worth out of this. As far as sound goes. The intake can be slightly noiser than stock. I do not notice it in E430. I do notice it in my Expedition 4X4, and as well in my previous 4Runner 4X4. Must be because of all the insulation in the E430.
