With the SL55, I couldn't believe how close MB was to actual engine HP figures.
With an 18% drivetrain loss, the figure before the Renntech mod was EXACTLY 496.7 hp.
Go figure MB within 1 hp of published.....

* My old S 500 shows empty when there "only is 25 L left".
* My E 270 CDI T runs out of diesel when there is 6 L left in the
display.
These gas gauges show like the wind blows.
For you info : Nobody from CMI or DC Taiwan did check with us
for any related problems, whos your contact at CMI - Jason ???

I heard a few C24K, C32K here suffer the same issue, the containment action we did is to add extra feul pump in line.
If C240 share the same pump as C32, why it overload ??

Jason: You do not need an external fuel pump. You had a bad stock pump that worked OK without the Kompressor, but could not handle pump amplifier. This is something that you have been told many, many times.
Stock C240 pump is the same as C320 and C32, so it should handle the fuel demands. Please be patient, we should have a new pump in within next couple of days.

Shine : Is it Sam Ling from CMI or DCT ?????
Vadim and Shine.
KLEEMANN really have sold a lot of S/C systems for the C 320
on Taiwan and in Japan right after the W 203 arrived in the market summer 2000.
When a new model is out, no one knows what kind of weakneses
the new model have.
With the W 203, Mercedes-Benz dumped BOSCH as a supplier for the new in tank fuel pump and used Pierburg USA.
The old pump we find on 202,208,210,215,220,230 up till date
cost retail approx. $ 250,00, the one used in the W 203 cost retail
aprox. 50,00 and that price includes the whole gas level system which is integrated in the pump.
None of us has to be a professor to calculate that the Pierburg pump used in W 203 cost Mercedes-Benz next to nothing compared with the BOSCH jugdeing from the retail price and the choice to use pierburg was made to produce the car cheaper
( If possible )
I know from our close relation ship with DC Taiwan among many MB contacts, that the fuel pump failed in almost all W 203 sooner or later. I did see a letter to all service and warrenty departments
within DC, that pierburg lost the contract and new pumps was on the way, they explained in the same letter from DC Stuttgart that the customers should NOT be called in for change of pumps, then there would be a shortage of pumps because the supply was limited, it was better to wait untill the customer had a stop some where. Before such a big company as MB finds out that there is a problem with a part, they dont change from one day to another-
it takes time and in the mean time 2000 cars are pumping out every day with bad pumps.
The pumps are failing with or without compressor - with or without the higher voltage under boost.
The new pumps which came out, I did never experience a problem with.
Same story as the 203 goes for the ML, the pumps are bad in the first 3-4 years, then they changed number as on the 203 to a new pump.

Hrm... Lucas, you're probably right about the pumps. This just brings up another issue.. . If you guys knew the 203 pumps that came with the car were inherently weak, maybe you can include the new version of the pump as a complimentary item to the customer. That will just make the Kleemann service more praise-worthy in the longrun. Afterall, any faults or mishaps can bring Kleemann a bad rep regardless if it's Kleemann-related or not.

Hank
After all Kleemann is a company with limited resourses, should we
put 2 new doors in the kit for the CL's, when they had huge problems with wind noise in the first models, where MB started to buy the customers cars back.
It doesn't matter if there is water in the tail lamp, it will be our fault any way.
Anyway, most cars we supply to are new, so they have the new pump in.

The prices given is approx. and in Denmark, I guess that spareparts are more expensive in the US.
Sleestack;
The 203 have an intank pump, where the $ 250,00 pump on your car is outside.
If the outside pump should be used, the intank pump should be used to feed the outside.
No matter how I looked at it, there is no space under a W 203
and installing an extra pump outside will leave fuel lines dangerously close to the exhaust pipe.
Installing an outside tank pump, will not make the intank pump any better, it will still stop working and the result will be the same, the cars stops.
