Veloce Performance Monterey Historics Special!

We are making our annual trip out of the desert furnace to the Monterey Historics Weekend for a little 'car guy fun'.

We will be on the Peninsula from 8/13-8/16, and in between Concourso Italiano, The Quail, Laguan Seca..... we have a number of cars scheduled to tune.

To make things a little sweeter, we are extending a 25% discount to MBWorld members if you schedule and have us tune your car during dates listed above.

So pick up the phone, schedule and drive down to Monterey, have some fun and drive home..... I bet the drive home will be substantially quicker when we are done!

... And add your story to our testimonials! http://www.veloceperformance.com/testimonial.htm

See you in Monterey!

I have family in that part of the world! If you can put together some cars, I would consider a fall trip. I love Lime Rock!

I will probably do the ECU in my 2002 G500 when it goes out of warranty. IS there a way of sending the ECU to you?

Unfortunately I spend October in the woods chasing bird-dogs. But Lime Rock is a great place.

I sympathsize with the loss of your dog. I just lost one of mine - an 18 year old Brittany, amazing age but true, on July 1. Buried her in her favorite cover.

Our tuning will have no effect on your warranty! Most of our business is mail order, with clients sending their ECU's in for tuning. When were you thinking about having it done?

Thanks for your thoughts on my Newfies. They were great friends...

1. AMG is having a Stage One and Stage Two Driving School at Lime Rock Sept 10-15 so you might want to think about coordinating with that.

I'm sure there will be other vendors there, dontcha think?

2. As far as the ECU goes I have to find out something specific about my car. Will get back to you.

3. Since the ECU is a standard part shared by many cars but programmed differently for many (I guess), does it make any sense to buy a new or used one and send it in so there is less downtime?
If I had a problem I could put the stock ECU in and no-one would be the wiser.

It is possible to have a 'spare' ECU, but it really isn't practical.

Each ECU is programmed for that specific car. In other words there are specific numbers that are linked to your car (VIN, software, hardware, etc), that are all part of the ECU. You could buy a spare, but it would have to be programmed by either the dealer, or a shop with a STAR system to make sure everything links up. Most guys don't want to go through the expense and effort involved in getting a spare ECU.

I doubt if AMG wants any other vendors who are modifying their cars at an event like that, but I will look into it.
