I know it is probably not particularly exiciting for most of you, however, for me it's one big step closer to the realization of my/Evosport's crazy CLK project:

Stop teasing us!!! You're going to have on CRAAAZY car when it's done dude. I'm quite jealous... i just might have to go get me a CLK just to follow in your footsteps

A 6.2 liter Kleemann supercharged CLK (W208). Going to try to reduce weight by several hundred pounds and stiffened the chassis with a chromaly rollcage. Not going the NOS route as you are with your C project, however it sounds like we'll both be looking for ways to get all that power to the ground.

I believe Vadim is trying to get between 560 - 600 hp at the rear wheel, which equals about 700 - 750 (w/ a 20% correction factor)at the crank. Prior to this round my car was putting down 400 hp at the rear wheel w/ the 4.3 liter engine. Torque numbers should be similar. We should be able to get 200 lbs off the car which should help acceleration. The power will run through a CL 600 transmission.

Aren't you itching for some more hp and torque in your CLK50K by now? You could always buy a new car but what's the fun in that?

Since it's my car, I'll respond.

speculations? People speculate that I'm crazy.

specification? Vadim is anticipating getting 550- 600 hp at the rear wheel with similar torque numbers. The engine will be a 6.2 liter Kleemann (only the best!) supercharged V8. Suspension will be custom made coilovers. Brembos front and back. Transmission and ECU will be replaced. Hoping to get 305's or 315's on the rear and 265's or 275's up front. Full chromally rollcage. Other interior and exterior aesthetic details are not yet finalized. We anticipate shedding about 200 lbs form the W208.

presumptions? People presume I'm crazy.

opinions? People are of the opinion that I'm crazy.

timeline? The engine should be complete within the next month. After that, I expect another 6 weeks of tuning/testing and completion of other componenets.

anticipated use? Grocery store runs... actually, I just dig on the W208(despite it's shortcomings) so I wanted to build an over-the-top beastly W208 as a tribute. I'll drive it around 2 or 3 days a week and occasionally bring it to the track. I'm certainly not building this car to have it sit in a garage.

possibility of developing a package out of this for others? You'll have to talk to Evosport about that one, however, certainly my car is being used by Evosport to showcase their abilities as a full service tuner. They are awesome guys and run a fantastic business, so I jumped at the opportunity to work on this project with them.

See, I don't think you're insane. Just an a**h***, and that is only because I am jealous, and wish that a.) I had the dough for such a project and b.) someone choose me to showcase their talents.

Either way, sounds like the car will be insane. But you are just a god for being the proud owner of such an amazing project.

Come on please, how about another teaser pic?

You're right, the 208 is amazing. It was what I wanted, but budget constraints and short-comings of the platform forbid me from doing so. Can I use your old motor for my C230 Komp.?
