KLEEMANN CARB EO coverage

To all participants of MBWorld.org:

KLEEMANN USA has contacted CARB and have updated compliance for the following models:

2002 SLK320
2002 E55, ML500
2002 CLK55
2002-03 ML55
2002-03 S55,CL55,G500

ARB's website will reflect these changes. We are in the que for ULEV test cyclce which will take care of the remaining models not listed. Coverage for the models listed above never lapsed as these models are certified to the same test standard as our original EO (D-528), ARB had to be directly contacted to update their listings.

When KLEEMANN has attained a EO for the ULEV models it will be shown on the ARB website as a suffixed number to the orignal EO. This should mitigate any doubts cast on the legality of SC systems recently installed on Timsters car.

I notice the C320K isn't on your list. Would you have to resubmit for additional CARB approval for a 6-speed manual as opposed to the automatic?

To your knowledge, worldwide has any Kleemann superchargers been mated to a 3.2 liter v-6 with the manual tranny? I know in the US, until recently, the only vehicle that had this combination was the SLK320. Of course, now it can be had in all body types.

Primarily, I am concerned about the long-term health of a stock clutch in such an arrangement.

Wow a C320 Coupe with a KLEEMANN SC unit on it would be NICE.

No this is not correct.

All SC sold by KLEEMANN are legal for use on CA cars that fall into the category listed (as well as the list on ARB's website).

The point here is that someone brought up the fact that 2002 CLK55's were not listed on ARB's website as a covered model. In fact they are covered because they are certified to the same standard as the 2001 CLK55. The ARB website needs to be updated- our EO was awarded in 2001 so coverage had not been updated since that time.

ULEV cars (2003 models and a few 2002's) are not covered under this EO as the spec is different. We are in the que for this testing and will know the reuslts in s few months.

CARB is short for California Air Resources Board and is a California air quality thing.
