Yes definitely a whole new world with some serious power! Price on the kit with install will just be under $20k.

turbos are easy to get quick hp simply by adjusting boost.


hey, i read the --600 v12 engine was detuned from the maybach edition because the tranny couldn't handle all that power...have u encountered any such problems?

This will not be the case- the AMG Kompressor replacement system from KLEEMANN will be over $20K for sure, at the same time I can say it wont be $35K either. As I had mentioned at the start of this thread the final price will be available in August.

We have had no problems with the power train handling the power. Be careful what you read and believe- the easy answer is always "the car cant handle the power" or "its detuned for this chassis from that chassis". From a product placement stand point why should MBZ give a lowly $130K S600 the same power as the $300K+ Maybach?

i talked to asp racing.com. they can supply a change of pulley for the sl55 for $650.00 for and additional 30 hp. this would require no ecu changes. a lot cheaper than kleeman! these guys are rediculous.

Any of the MBZ tuners AMG 55 SC systems are more than just a pulley. Its because we sink huge sums of money into R&D of the ECU system. There is much more power lurking in the car than simply the pulley. Ask ASP to tune the ECU for you, remove the VMAX, sharpen the trottle response etc.

Ask them for a dyno... SL55's are not the easiest cars to come by, let alone run numerous tests on several cars of each model...

I'm just curious. What times does Kleeman expect to see with the supercharger replacement system for the 55's. 0-60? Quarter-mile? Do you have any estimates/guesstimates? Thanks in advance.

There isn't much available in terms of power, but other upgrades can be done to improve its drivability. We changed the suspension to H&R springs and Bilstein HD shocks on his car and made a huge improvement in the suspension. Prior to doing so, the car would porpuse at speed, and was unsafe to turn in. With 19" wheels, the car is not too low, and remains very comfortable. If you have not changed your suspension, I would recommend starting there first.
