Rentech (hi airflow something)

is that worth buying... some type of high air flow box... it is about 1400 dollars... it is a solid 20hp or more increase...

anyone see one of these?

They had a good picture of the Renntech airbox in the C-forum a while back. It is high quality and carbon fiber...real nice. But, I think you need the ECU upgrade and exhaust to get the most out of it.

CL600, if you want the kind of power you mentioned before. You'd need to go all the way with supercharger, header, exhaust system, ECU and everything else to achieve it. And you would need new set of wheels and tires to handle the power. Are we still talking about 500 to 600 hp?

If CO is not too far from you, I would take it to Kleenman. Sounded like they really go out of their way to take care of their customers.

Price vs. Performance

So CL, you're talking about an air box or something of that nature that gives around 20hp, and costs $1400. Price vs. performance is pretty bad there. You can get that kind of power elsewhere for less money, aka custom exhaust (I've done it on other cars). Also, if its basically a cold air intake, just make the thing yourself, or have someone else make one for you in the K&N FIPK style. I'll be making a cold air intake for a BMW 740il pretty soon here and I expect to see a noticeable difference in power, as well as get some nice throat out of the engine. Oh, another thing. You said you just have straight pipes out to a resonator? Email me off list and we can talk about getting you more powerful exhaust as you're missing a lot of power if its really what I think it is. And yeah, take it to Kleemann if you can or get the supercharger kit. Nice power gains

Cars and boats!
I have the RENNTech Carbon Fiber airbox in my ML55 and it did wonders for it. I think the stock airbox on the ML was wayyyyy too restricted and this really freed up some horsepower. Coupled with the ECU upgrade, I really felt a difference in my ML. Better throttle response and it pulls harder. heres a pic of mine......
