Go to

"choose your make", select "mercedes", on the subsequent screen, go e.g., to "SLK" (or any other type that has the V6 e.g., C, E class) , and it'll show the filter options.

Amongst those, there's the "CDA70-150" which is a carbonfibre replacement filter element for the 3.2 L (also for the 2.6L) V6. This is not the flat drop-in replacement filter which they also have but a cylindrical filter to replace the OEM filters.

The website address is "http://www.bmcairfilters.com/VisModel.asp" but this may not get you right there..

I have a stupid question. Why does it say "not for highway use, only for road race use" ?????

Answer

You need TüV approval in Germany even for such mundane parts as aftermarket air filters, and BMC probably didn't want to spend the many €s on this.
