i read another forum somewhere here and there was a tuner in the tri-state area for mercedes. i got a price quote for about 5500 to tune my sl500. he said he would do exhaust, intake, ECU change 15% increase. can you guys further explain this ECU increase and is it worth it?
are there any other good tuners around here?

The ECU is (to my knowledge) a chip in essence. The intake and exhaust, that almost depends on the tuner. Do you know what exactly he does to the exhaust and intake? I would imagine the 'intake' work is different airbox like the carbon fiber Renntech with a higher flowing filter, or possibly an extrude honed intake. I'd very interested to know what hes doing for the intake and exhaust though, and a 15% increase from the ECU? or is that total? If just the ECU, that seems a little optimistic, and if thats total gain, talk to me privately and I can do better than that, lol.
