Eisenmann Exhaust revving problem

I just put on a high performance eisenmann exhaust for my slk 230 and when put in neutral or park and my foot is pushed down on the pedal, the engine won't rev more than 4000 rpm. But it does rev to redline when i'm driving. Why won't it rev to redline when in park or neutral???

are you sure it didnt do that before you put the exhaust on? i was under the impression that no mercedes will rev above 4000 RPM when in neutral or park.

there is a rev limiter when you are in park or neutral for protection of the tranny itself and the engine. It cuts out around 4100-4200 RPM's so that u do not damage u'r tranny or engine. When driving, it will redline, or atleast be close to it (i think fuel cutoff point, again to protect u'r car, is around 5600-5700?)
