Opinions on brake setup, please

Hi all, its time for my brake job.
I wanted to upgrade to E55 brakes but could not find a good set cheap enough. hopping to upgrade car next year, could not justify 1500, and thats used...

so im thinking of the following and need your opinions....
Pads:
Stop tech, low dust, quiet but only 3 stars on braking according to tirerack

or Akebono more dust same performance also according to tirerack

OR EBC Red Stuff?

and to for better stopping i'm thinking to go from stock drilled to slotted to increase surface contact. thinking of these.... ATE Slotted Rotors

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've used ATE slotted power disks previously on a mid 90's Audi 100/A6 and they performed great. I got almost 60k miles out of the rotors and pads (Pagid brand). By the time I needed new pads, the rotors had worn to the point where you couldn't see the groove any more. That may sound like a lot of wear but I believe the looping groove on the ATE's is significantly shallower than the typical radial slot on other rotors.

On my current daily driver, VW Passat, I have Axix ultimate ceramic pads and Zimmernan plain faced rotors. This combination is fantastic in dry conditions. The initial bite from the pads is very good and they have incredible grip and fade resistance once you put your foot into them. Very linear feel with this combination and no sign of warping with the disks. In the wet however they leave a little to be desired. The first week or so of use, they were down right scary in heavy rain on the highway. You could literally count 1001, 1002 before they would bite. After the initial bed-in they have improved to the point where the delay in wet braking is only noticable after not using the brakes for a while in heavy rain, and even then it's very brief. I think the Axix ceramic/Zimmerman combo would be perfect if the rotors were drilled and/or slotted.

thanks for the reply.
Im not sure if low dust is worth the price of stopping power. so still looking around for alternatives to stock pads. the dust is really getting to me, but i still want to be able to stop this tank when needed.
