2012 S63 exhaust... want it a bit louder

So I'm not looking to remove the resonators as IMO, it's too much for me. I'm looking for though, a bit more volume. A friend of mine suggested removing the 2nd set of I believe they are cats. We had my car up on our lift the other day looking at it. I know the first set of cats, didn't know if there was a second set that's more downstream or if that is a bullet style muffler, and then of course, the resonators at the rear. Has anyone removed the second cat/muffler? Any sound difference? Anyone happen to have a video clip of it? Thanks in advance.......

CL55 AMG
I'm not sure how different the S63 exhaust is, but removing the resonators (not the mufflers) on my CL55 came out perfect. It's still quiet at idle, a little louder under acceleration and a monster at full throttle. It ran me $80 at a local muffler shop. Removing the cats is illegal in most, if not all, emission controlled states. The CL has a set of cats on the down pipes, another set further back, resonators just before the rear tires and mufflers after.

I agree here. I've got a GL 450 and just had the shop pull off the resonator and it's exactly like stated above. Nice rumble, good at idle, deep when getting on it.

There's also less restriction in my opinion. You can really hear the turbos whistle now-

What's the worse case scenario? They cut them loose and if you don't like it they can drop it back in. Not ideal but a fixable solution either way.

Good luck!
