Just curious - since the CLK can only do 265 wide - what tire / rim combo for drag racing - just a track setup. 16s for more wrinkle on the side wall? Anyone research this?

Both Nitto and BF Goodrich make DOT legal radial drag tires in 16" and 17" sizes. They hook very well and are acceptable for street driving. I've seen guys making 400rwhp run great 60' times at the track with these. When one of my cars was making approximately 385rwhp (118mph trap speed in the 1/4) I used 255/50 16 BFG Drag Radials.

If you're putting out serious HP, Mickey Thompson makes a 16" version of their ET Street (26x11.5x16) which works well on 8"-10" wide wheels (about the same as a 245-275mm width tire).

Hope that helps!
