modding my c280 v6 with ml320
if there is another thread relating to this i apologise in advance.
trawling a scrapyard for another project i happened on a ml320 v6 .
i have a c280 v6 1997.
there on the ml320 engine at top front is what? cylindrical in shape and looks like a air compressor of sorts.or a type of turbo?
i read somewhere in the net that this can give up to 20% boost??? (im sceptical about this but you never know).
is this a type of ram air for the inlet manifold therefore boosting air in?
also whilst im at it ,im at the end of spending money on mine without serious spending on turbos and such which is a cash throwaway really.
are the fuel injectors in the 320 larger than my 280?
are the heads compatible ?only needing new chains on a rebuild top end?
is it just bore size the major difference on these engines or am i pipe dreaming?
forget the red arrow on the picture.i got this off googly woogly.

Thats a secondary air injection pump for emissions control, used on all M112 &M113 normally aspirated engines I believe. Not a performance part, expensive (~!$400 or so), and a real PITA when it fails.

its a v6 not the inline.a little bit more horsepower but not a lot more.
as for air pump......can it not be adapted to act similar as a type of ram-air??
