best bet for HP boost would be to do a turbo in the I6...I've seen a few C280's with turbo's, good amount of gain and the I6 has potential for modding. A c36 motor is really the 2.8 bored out to 3.6 so you can see what you have to work with

Cars and boats!
i beleive MRP makes a turbo manifold for the M104 motors!!! I would just do a custom turbo kit with your C280... upgrade the internals with Carilla rods and JE Pistons, custom billet crank... to drop the compression... then put a A/R .60 front housing T3 turbo in it and call it a day!! Of course, you would either need to find somebody who can tune your Eprom ECU or go with another type of fuel management system.

what makes you say a blower isnt as good as a turbo???

and intake, exhaust and little things do make a difference... especially when youre talking about major motor work like a turbo or blower.
