Value your opinions on various tunes

Hi all,

I purchased a "new to me" 2018 AMG C63 (coupe) and looking to hear about some real world feedback on tunes you have on your cars. I've researched the various forum postings but want to know what you think about your tune. What tune did you purchase, ease of install, customer service, cost, problems, performance, upgrades available, ease of switching between stock/performance, pros and cons etc, These are the companies that I've heard from or reached out to:
  1. OE Tuning
  2. Sheepey Tuning
  3. CarBahn
  4. Dinan
  5. RennTech
  6. Star Motor Werkz
I know that there are additional companies out there, so please chime in...need to learn about this so that I can make an informed decision.

Thanks,

spartan

I like the GINTANI MERCEDES BENZ W204 C63 AMG ECU TUNE. I think it's the best tune I've ever heard.

I just got the 17GLS550 tuned 91 OE Tuning and it's Awesome! Rig should have come like this from factory. Some extra 100 horsies/torqies, generous powerband, great MPG, etc..
For comparison, other car is APR ST2SP 18Q7 4M Audi, anout 440/420 , but lighter car. Merc feels faster, though heavier.

did stage 1 with OE on a 2016 e400 Convertible, unfortunately did not run a dyno test so cant provide the numbers of power increase. but driving after their reprogramming felt much better, pedal response gear switching acceleration. before to drift from start in a turn i had to switch to sport mode, after OE tune no need to witch modes, comfort became flexible you can go slow or just press the pedal and it knows what to do. simple example a friend was driving it for around a 100 miles and was strongly impressed by the power after his 2017 s550 convertible. right now shopping for some tuning on an e450 leaning to get a jb4 as it allows modes switching like valet mode. OE's customer support is just superb, i had to remove the ecu and send it to CA their guidance made the whole process smooth i had minimum questions, while contacting jb4 so far on installation left me unsatisfied.
by the way that was a lease and i had no questions asked by the dealer upon vehicle return.

Very happy with my VRTuned Stage 1 and Stage 2 ECU tunes for my 2015 SL400. It turns a borderline anemic 329hp (for a heavy car) into 390hp (Stage 1) or 420hp (Stage 2) that allows the six cylinder SL to live up to expectations, and that includes performance as well as gas mileage. Neither stage requires any other modification (intake, exhaust, water injection, etc.) and only requires 91-93 octane pump gas. The difference between the two stages is that Stage 2 is intended for aggressive driving -- casual driving in Sport mode causes a nearly imperceptible surging when off throttle coasting at slow speed. In Eco mode, there's no difference with regard to smoothness. Stage 2 also accentuates the exhaust sound when in Sport mode and decelerating -- there's some mild crackle and pop.

With the VRTuned program, you can get either Stage 1 or Stage 2 for the same price, or both for an extra charge. I also got the PowerGate3+ handheld ECU programmer to load whichever program I want. I can return to stock at any time if needed. It was really important to me to not have to pull my ECU and send it off for programming. I like being able to load a tune in about 5 or 10 minutes and have no downtime.
