m111 oil catch can conversion, advice sought

Hi, has anyone fitted an oil catch can to the m111 200 kompressor.

I have attempted it and and now getting oil blown out through the dipstick; so I am clearly sending pressure the wrong way!

I hope someone can help me.

I have fitted an oil catch can to my 2003 W203 200 kompressor with m111 engine.

I am getting oil blow back through the dipstick. I am pretty sure the routing is ok and have even fitted a non return valve on the thin pipe between the crank case and supercharger manifold as I thought that maybe pressure was coming back up that pipework but that hasnt helped.

Any advice as to why this is still happening would be much appreciated.

The pics you've posted are not very detailed. But, from what I can see, it appears you've routed the crankcase breather (small steel line) and routed it through the CC and back into the cam cover breather? If that is the case then all you've done is created a closed loop and the crankcase now has no place to breath so not surprised you're seeing crankcase pressure releasing via the dipstick which is the only place left that is not completely sealed and can by pushed on when CC pressures rise (especially not good on an FIed engine).

On catch cans, they should intervene between the crankcase breather then directly into the throttlebody, or intake manifold port; wherever the PCV might have been. I've setup a number of CCs on other engines. My goto source and CC preference is MightyMouse. Catch Can | LSX | Mopar | Ford | Mightymouse Solutions | Virginia, USA.

You might try them with some Qs and better pics. They'll know right where to route.

So, having spoken with a few people, it would appear that the lack of venting was the common theme. I added a filter/vent to the catch can and that seems to have stopped the oil being blown back through the dipstick.

Yes, that's what I mentioned in post 7. With only one partial pic, It appeared you had created a closed loop. I still don't see enough of this setup to see if anything is routed to the intake (which it usually does). If so, on a blown motor, intake changes from vacuum to positive pressure. Any vent going to that port needs to have a check valve (or one way flow valve); otherwise, you'll lose boost pushing the air charge back into the crankcase. But still, not enough pics of your complete setup.

BTW, based on where you are located, if a visual/equipment emissions inspection is done, this will fail as you are now venting crankcase vapors to the atmosphere.
