Question E85 VRP Conversion kit

Hello all,

does anyone have any knowledge or familiarity with this product and how well it works/doesn't work. I know that converting to all metal lines etc. would be required because e85 would deteriorate the factory lines on a lot of models. But before spending the 700 to order the kit I wanted to reach out and see if anyone had any exposure to converting to e85 and specifically using this kit to do so. Or if you converted by a different method feel free to comment that method below.

Thanks!

I plan on running this in a boosted set up with either a nitrous kit and/or turbo. I wondering if a set up like this plus a 800 nitrous kit or 2,000.00 turbo would be a cheaper alternative to waiting and spending 10,000.00 on a super charger, or if this product simply does not work as advertised.

How about posting what car you have and where you are located? My 2014 C350 is already set up from the factory to use E85.

It’s actually part of an engine swap/build that I am doing. I already have Rudy Compart helping me with the programming/tuning after I decide on a direction but the engine is out of a 2002 Clk 55 Amg with 45,000 miles on it and it, the trans, and rear end is all being ported over to a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire.

so the actual car is a crossfire with the 5.5 NA engine in it. My goal on potentially getting the kit was to see if it would be a cheaper alternative to get the kit and a turbo/nitrous set up instead of spending the full 10,000 for a super charger from Vivid Racing (kleeman charger). I’ll spend the 10k to boost it if I have to but thought converting to E85 and throwing a higher compression turbo on it may be a little cheaper. I’m just not sure if the kit even works as advertised or if it’s a waste of money. (I know I will have to have Rudy account for the E85 in the tuning to take advantage of it).

You may want to double check the availability of the Kleeman supercharger. If you are talking about the one for the M113 engine, it is no longer available. I really wanted to put one on my 2004 SL500 with the M113 engine but could not find one anywhere. If you find one, you may want to grab it.

My understanding is the corrosive effects of ethanol is what makes the conversion questionable, though I really don't know much about it. As I said, I have the flex fuel factory option on my 2014 C350 and have used E85, but could not really tell any performance improvement. Mileage does suck though. I'm surprised to see the kit on FCP Euro's website. But apparently it claims to be safe.

I had heard the supercharger wasn't available either! I was surprised to still see it on vivid racings site. That was the other reason I was looking at alternatives like running e85 and a turbo platform instead. I know I would have to change the lines and everything over to metal but honestly with the car being completely torn apart as the rear end/trans is replaced anyway I figured now would be the time if I was going to do it. Supposedly e85 allows for higher boost applications due to combustion point. That's why I was reaching out for any input anyone has regarding the kit (if it really works, etc.).

I don't know why Vivid still has the Kleeman supercharger on its site, but call them and they will tell you it's no longer available. I even reached out to the Kleeman US headquarters and they confirmed it was discontinued and could not help me locate a retailer that might still have one. You may actually want to look for a M113K engine that is used in the AMG cars. I had a coworker that had a 2003 E55 that he tuned (smaller pulley, ECU tune, etc.) and claimed 700hp. It was always a little scary to ride with him.
