2.2L (M127) bell housing adaption?
Hello all!
I have a Unimog that has sat in the corner of my shop for decades and I want to do something with it.
I did convert it to a 5 cyl. turbo diesel (OM617) so I have the stock and the custom bell housings, the OEM engine was a 2.2L (M180 I believe) I do know the M130 will bolt up.
The Unimog has a very specific bell housing so any conversion must take place at the bell housing.
So the 617 needs some rather expensive repairs and I was wondering if there are any later model engines or perhaps and adapter for a later model engine MB or not that might bolt up to one of these bell housings.
A recommendation for another more appropriate forum would also be helpful.
