3006 E320 cdi
Om642 to Om629

Hi.
I have a 2007 320 cdi and I am thinking og putting a v8 om629 in it.

I'll buy an accident w211 420cdi and transfere the engine into mine.

has anyone done this

? How much do I have to transfere ? Does my 722.9 trans fit ? What year om629 is the best and strongest engine ?

thank you

Sounds like a fun project but likely much cheaper in the long run to just buy the right suv to begin with. That way you get the engine and everything around it is designed to work with it. It’s not like a mid 2000’s ML420 or ML450 is going to be super expensive and you could sell your 320 to reduce your overall cost. Just my 2 cents.
